WEDDING

A LEY—PETTIT The wedding took place on Saturday evening in St. Mary's Cathedral, Parnell, of Lilian Nion Pettit, only daughter of Mrs. F. Brabazon, of Auckland, and the late Mr. E. Pettit, and Raymond Charles Aley. elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Aley, of Mount Eden. The Rev. Canon W. Fancourt officiated. The service was fully choral, Mr. Edgar Randall playing the wedding music. The bride, who entered the church with Mr. Cyril F. Seaward, looked charming in a beautiful gown of magnolia angelskin lace cut on classical lines, with the short, graceful train falling from the hip-line. Her long net veil, appliqued in a petal design and arranged to form a half-cap, was caught to the head with orange blossoms and fell in soft; folds to form a second train. She carried a bouquet of helobors, cyclamen, roses and tocsonis mollissima. In attendance were Mrs. C. Bryant, of Tauwhare, Hamilton, matron of honour, and two bridesmaids, Miss Pearl Dix and Miss Vera Campbell, of Whangarei. They wore frocks similarly fashioned of foxglove pink triple georgette over taffeta, fitting to the figure and flowing into full trains. On their heads wore coronets of blue and pink hyacinths, from which fell dainty tulle | veils. They carried pink and blue bouquets of cyclamen, hyacinths and stock. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. T. Heard as best man, and the ushers were Messrs. C. Alev, W. D. Audley, Gordon Murray and A. H. McGregor. The church had been beautifully decorated with arum lilies and masses of peach blossom. After tho ceremony a reception was hold at the Star Hotel, where the guests were received bv Mrs. Brabazon, who wore a very graceful gown of black georgette over taffeta, cinbroidorod in lacquer and gold, and finishing in a short fish-tail train. With *this was worn a black picture hat, and she carried a bouquet of lacquer-tinted gorberas. Mrs. A. A. Aley was in a trained frock of Burgundy embossed chenille relieved*with dusky pink and a becoming picture hat to tone. A shoulder spray of orchids was also worn.
