Tuesday Tho annual Otamatea basketball sports were held at Paparoa, seven teams competing Results were as follows: Marching Competition. Matakohu. S9 points, I; Kaiwaka. Bf>, 2. Overhead arid Tunnel Ball. Matakohe. I. Spy Ball.--Matakohe, 1. Passing Game.—Marahemo 1; Matakohe, 2. Ziz-zag Competition.—Marahemo, 1; Matakohe. 0. Relay.— Paparoa, 1. Busketbnll Marahemo, 1. The Marahemo team won tho cup, scoring 11 points, Matakohe was second with 0 points, and Paparoa was third with 3 points. The Ehield for the season's competitions was presented by Mr R. Coafes to the Kniwaka team and the cup for the day's event 9 was presented to the Marahemo team. f DARGAVILLE TOURNAMENT [by telegraph—own correspondent] DARGAVILLE. Tuesday Tho Northern Watroa Basketball Association held its first tournament, when, in spi r of heavy rain und wind, the whole programme was completed, Southern won the tournament with 14 points. High School A second. 13 points, Naurnai, 10 points, third. Results: -B&ekotball: Southern. 5, Nautnai, 2 Passing game: High School A beat Southern. Zigiag relay: High School. Overhead ball High School A Relav race: High School B, At the conclusion of tho tournament trophies were presented t.o the winner* ox the Bcason competitions. Kaihu.
