PASSENGERS DELAYED BOARD CHAIRMAN'S CRITICISM Delay which is stated to have occurred in the disembarkation of passengers from the Monowai on the vessel's arrival from Sydrey on July 8 will bo the subject of a complaint to the Health Department by the Auckland Harbour Board. The chairman. Mr. C. G. Macindoo, said at yesterday's meeting of tho board that in spite of tho efforts that had beon made to expedite tho landing of passengers, they were delayed unnecessarily on July 8. On that occasion the vessel reached port at 5.45 p.m. Although tho Monowai had been cleared by both the port medical officer and the o/licinls of tho Customs Department, passengers were subject to a delay of 15 minutes in landing. In the meantime their friends and the labour required for unloading tho vessel had been allowed to walk on board. On the motion of Mr. Macindoe it was decided to write to tho Health Department. The board was informed by the Collector of Customs at Auckland that the Customs Department was prepared to return to it the accommodation set aside on King's Wharf and Central Wharf for departmental use. A request was made for additional accommodation in Shed 15, Queen's Wharf, the enlargement of the boarding inspector's quarters. and alterations to th# accommodation on Prince's Wharf. The New Zealand Badminton Federation was eranted the uso of Shed 9, Central Wharf, for four, days in September for the New Zealand championshins It was docided to make a donation of £4 4s to the sports fund of tho Auckland Labour Day Committee.
