CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
METROPOLITAN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held its monthly shoot on Saturday afternoon at Mangere. The first, seven-target sweepstake was divided by L. F. Ramsey (20yds). J. Donnelly (17yds) and N. McCallum (12yds), all securing the possible. In the annual 21-target competition for the Cucksey Cup last year's winner, F. H. Seccombe, was unfortunate to drop .one target. W. J. Taylor (16yds) was the only competitor to shoot the possible and thus holds the cup for 12 months. The following shooters broke 20:—A. J. Hanigan (12yds), W. E. Parry (12yds), F. H. Seccombe (18yds). F. ,T. Hazard (12yds). A novice trophy was presented for the match. W. E. Grant and N. McCallum tieing with 19. In the shoot-off Grant won on the 26th round. A final gimcrack contest, back 2yds n shot, resulted in W. J. Taylor, 14—26 yds, breaking the possible of seven.
