MAORI CYCLISTS HURT
COLLISIONS WITH CARS Two Maoris were injured in collisions between tho bicycles they were riding and motor-cars- on Saturday. Mr. Tapihana Brown, aged 26, married, of Hendry's Avenue, Hillsborough, escaped with an injury to the knee after a head-on collision with a motor-car driven by Mr. Samuel Lees, of 58 Buckland Road, at the intersection of Gillies Avenue and King George Avenue, Epsom, shortly after mid-day. Mr. Brown was thrown off his machine, over tho radiator of the car, and on to tho footpath. He was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, Tho bicycle was damaged extensively. Tho front of the car also was damaged. Whilo riding a bicycle in Quay Street at about noon, Mr. H. Koepa, of 57 Bright Street, Eden Terraoe, was thrown off his machine in a collision with a car. He received i.brnsions to the head, but after being taken by a St. John ambulance to the casualty ward of the Auckland Hospital was able to return homo.
