TAYLOR TO MEET AITKEN Hard fighting between two performers of more than ordinary ability should be a feature of the professional contest on the Auckland Boxing Association's fine pro gramme whicl» will be staged nt the Town Hnll on Monday evening. The four amateur preliminaries and the teams' tournament of ten men aside promise fine entertainment. In the professional contest between Frank Taylor and Billy Aitken, 12 rounds nre sclicd uled. Taylor has won a high place in the New Zealand boxing world by means of brilliant science, combined with splendid punching ability. His 55 contests as an amateur ineluded only one defoi't, anil that in his first fight, while he won three New Zealand titles. As a professional he is unbeaten in the buntam-weight class, except for one close decision to Teddy Oreen, the Australian champion. Taylor trained fuinier prentice when ho twice defeated Dnl Costa, an outstanding American bantam-weight. Aitken has had a meteoric rise to prominence, having won three of his four professional contests in impressive style. In Auck land last month he revealed himself ns a natural fighter, and his bout with Taylor promises to provide spectators with n splendid contest.
