AMERICAN MOVEMENT WASHINGTON, July 26 In reply to a letter signed by 46 members of the Senate requesting that President Roosevelt press the silver purchase law enthusiastically until the price of the metal hats reached 1.29 dollars an ounce, he said he was complying with the broad objective of the Act. This was to attain " a wider monetary use of isilver in the manner most advantageous to the public interest."
