SINKING OF A BARGE
PHOTOGRAPHER DROWNED FILM PRODUCTION FATALITY I Received July 28, 5.5 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO. July 27 A barge which was being used to represec.t a British warship in the filming of "The Cruise of the Bounty" was sunk by heavy seas off San Miguel Island to-day. Glenn Strong, a photographer, was drowned and equipment ralued at 50,000 dollars was lost. Repons of the accident are meagre. It is not known if any of the 75 players on location were on board the barge, but it is assumed that if they were all were saved. The istars of the production, who include Clark Gable, Charles Laughton and Franchot Tone, are not with the unit at San Miguel.
