PHILISTINE CLUB
FORTNIGHTLY SOCIAL The Philistine Club held its usual meeting in the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's Hall on Saturday evening. Mr. F. Ambler and Mrs. Ambler, who wore a frock of phlox pink angelskin lace and aequamarine velvet, received the guests. An interesting programme was arranged, those taking part being:—Miss Edna Thomas, who gave elocutionary items; Miss Beryl Smith and Mr. Stan Pritchard, who sang; and Mr. Harry Withers, who gave exhibitions of magic. Mr. H. Hays, Mi 1 . R. Pawson, Mr. Dimery and Mr. H. Engel an instrumental quartette. A play entitled " Minuet was given by Mrs. Audrey Mr*. J. Pool and Miss Edna Craig.
