THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE QUIET SATURDAY CALL Business was fairly quiet at the single call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. There was less inquiry for Government loans, but levels were well maintained. A parcel of Auckland City debentures. 1942, 4i per cent, was traded at £lO-3 15s. In banks, Unions gained 2s to sell at if 2s. and sellers raised their limits Is to £9 ss. New Zealands had sale at the current rate, 51s (3d, There was D o dealing in insurances. Pukeiniro Collieries were 3d weaker on sale at '2ss, but the preference issue of Kenowns rose 2d to sell at 2s Bd. British Tobaccos were again in demand, offers rising by 2d to 39s 9d and a similar gain was recorded in a sale at 39s lid.
