SPORT FOR TO-DAY
THIRD HOCKEY TEST MATCH SECONDARY SCHOOL RUGBY A wide variety of sporting attractions has been arranged in Auckland for today, the principal fixture, of course, being the third test match between the All-India hockey team and the New Zealand representatives. The game, which will take place at Eden Park, will begin at three o'clock. Matches in the Rugby senior grade competition will also be held at Eden Park. Grafton will play Ponsonby on No. 3 ground at 1.30, while Marist will play College Rifles at three o'clock. There will also be a match between University and Grammar Old Boys. At the Showgrounds, Manuku will play Otahuhu. An interesting secondary school Rugby fixture will be the game between Auckland Grammar School and King's College at the Grammar School. The match will begin at two o'clock. League football competitions will be advanced a further stage this afternoon, the main attraction at Carlaw Park being the game between Mount Albert and'Marist. City 'will play Newton, and Devoriport will meet Ponsonby. The principal Association football fixture will be played at Blandford Park between Ponsonby and Y.M.C.A. A large number of golfers will be playing this afternoon. The Auckland Club has arranged a bogey competition, and competitions have been arranged by the other clubs. Races will be conducted by the cycling clubs, and members of four harrier clubs will bo out in force. Basketball competitions will be continued.
