RUGBY FOOTBALL
FAREWELLS TO ALL BLACKS A farewell dinner was tendered T. H. C. Caughey and H. F. McLean, members of the 1935 All, Black tenm, by the Smith and Caughey Sports Club. On behalf of the club, the president, Mr. R. Lord, presented the two guests with engraved cigarette cases. Tho Auckland branch of the Shipping Officers' Guild held a farewell dinner for one of its members, C. R. Pepper, who has been included in the 1935 All Biack team to tour England. Speakers were Messrs. F. H, Gifford and H. S. Innes, representee the New Zealand Shipping Company and the Union Steam Ship Company respectively, and a presentation was made by Mr. W. J. Paul, president of the Auckland branch of the guild.
