OLD MAN'S COLLAPSE
DIED WHILE SEEING DOCTOR [by telegraph—own correspondent! WAIHI. Friday While being examined by a visiting doctor to-day Thomas Stuart Carter collapsed and died suddenly iu Victoria Hall, Waikino. Mr. Carter was about 80 years of age, and in the early days of the goldfield was accountant to well-known carrying contractors, Messrs. Hope and McLennan. Mr. Carter, who was a single man, had walked from his hut near the Waikino railway station to meet the doctor by appointment. Nc inquest will be necessarv, as a medical certificate was given that death was due to heart failure.
