HEATING TOWN HALL
TEMPORARY STEPS TAKEN Tn order to improve appreciably the comfort of Town Hall patrons, 30 electrical heaters had been installed as a temporary measure 011 the ground floor and in the gallery, statod the Mayor, Mr. Ernest'Davis, at the week-end. In addition, steps had been taken to prevent draughts. Mr. Davis said the question of heating the large Town Hall in a comprehensive way had been fully dealt with in reports by tlio city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler. The heating should not bo separated from tho ventilation problem, which, il undertaken on modern lines, would cost about £3OOO. It had been discovered that trouble experienced at a recent concert was caused by unnecessary draughts.
