FARMS CHANGE HANDS
ACTIVITY IN WAIKATO REVIVAL OF INTEREST' PROPERTY SOLD FOR £20,000 [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday There has been a distinct revival of interest in Waikato land among southern buyers recently. One Hamilton firm of land agents has disposed of three properties during the last few days. One of the finest fattening farms in the Waikato, a property of 716 acres at Shaftsburv, Te Aroha, owned by Mr. John Hanks, has been Rold to Mr. R. E. Nelson, of Pahiatu.?, as a going concern, for about £20,000. The farm had been in Mr. Hanks' hands for 30 years, and is in an advanced state of improvement. A mixed farm of 550 acres at Kiwitahi, Morrinsville, owned by Mr. H. K.. Kendall, of Auckland, has been sold to Mr. P. McVerry, of Gisborne, for between £7OOO and £BOOO. An Ohinewai farm, comprising 340 acres, has been sold to Mr. L. Babbingtou, of Lowgarth, Taranaki, for £6500. Apart from these sales, which were reported by Messrs. H. D. and A. B. Matthews, other agents have had a busy time recently on account of the numerous inquiries received.
