MEDICAL FEES
Sir, —I have read, with interest, the letters regarding medical fees, and would like to give my experience with doctors. Within the last eight years I have consulted eight doctors, including- three Auckland specialists, who charged a guinea a visit. One country doctor, after paying several visits to the house, and 1 to his surgery, oyer a period of six weeks, charged £6 lbs 6d, which included two anaestheticsone for removal of adenoids. Others have charged 10s 6d a visit, "while one always charges 10s. And yet another, after having been told to report progress, sent me an account whitfh included a few telephone consultations at 5s each. Some doctors are more humane than others, and it appears to me that some charge according to their own means as well as the patient s. Mother.
