A FEW FIGURES
Sir,—ln the letter of Mr. Thomas A. F Stone there is hardly anything requiring rebuttal. His statements about the personal distribution of our resources are, however, open to cavil. 1 would like to see his figures showing that 5 per cent of the people hold halt the national wealth. In such a computation, joint stock companies should be excepted, or else the number of shareholders quoted. If f/ompanv with 10.000 shareholders holds £I,UUU,UUU of'property, that means on an average £IOO for each shareholder. Mr. Stone will, no doubt, admit the reasonableness of this. Ngaruawahia. A. Warburton.
