Prisoner handed to His Honor a statement in which he appealed for another chance on the ground that he was endeavouring to reform, and the offences were due to drink. , Mr. Hubble, for the Crown, said he could only draw attention to the prisoner's list of convictions, which began as far back as 1917. His Honor said it was not a case for probation. Prisoner's record was not good, and the report on his character was not good. He had been apparentlv consorting with thieves and bonds and living an idle and shiftless life'for a considerable time, ine only course was to sentence him to imprisonment, and he would be sentenced to two years' hard labour.
