Mr. Justyce Callan returned from Wellington yesterday morning. Mr. L. Lefeaux, Governor of the Re. serve Bank, is spending a holiday in Rotorua. Sir James Gunson left by the express yesterdav afternoon to attend a meeting of tne Railways Board in Welling. ,: ton. Mr. Claude Kingston, concert direotor for J. and N. Tait and J. C. Williamson, Limited, returned to Auckland from Wellington yesterday morning. Mr. J. B. Lusk has been elected a member of tho Tauranga Domain Board in succession to Mr. Mervyn Simmonds who has resigned. Paymaster-Rear-Admiral Sir Eldon Manisty, R.N. (retired), and Lady Manisty, of England, are visi.ting Uotorua. They aro at the Grand Hotel. Tho Rev. G. F. W. Aulds, formerly of Rotorua, has been inducted as vicar of Matamata in succession to the Rev. J. W. Burley, who has left for a visit to England. Sir Robert Anderson, of Invercar- . gill, who has been on a short business visit to Auckland, left by train yesterday afternoon for Wellington on his return South. Mr. A. J. Parker, accompanied by Mrs. Parker, will leave Auckland on Friday by the Monowai on a visit to Queensland. They will be absent from New Zealand for about 10 weeks. Mr. E. L. Jones, _ formerly manager of the Bank of New South Wales in Christchurch, ha:3 been appointed manager of the bank's branch in Perth. Mr. Jones left Christchurch in March, 1934, to take up the position of assistant inspector for the New Zealand division of the bank, and at the end of last year was promoted to be western inspector for New South Wales, with headquarters in Sydney.
