GOLDEN WEDDING
MR. AND MRS. LANGFORD [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT*] PUKEKOHE, Saturday Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Langford, of Drury, celebrated their goldon wedding with a largo gathering of relatives and friends at their residence to-day. Although the celebrations were held today, the anniversary of the wedding fell on Thursday. Mr. Langford is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Langford, of Devonshire, England. Mr. Langford left for Australia as a young man on the ship Sir William Wallace and followed a variety of occupations in Queensland before coming to New Zealand. He was married in Auckland. Mrs. Langford was formerly Miss K. Biddick, a daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. J. Biddick, of Mahurangi and later Orakei. After engaging in contract work in Auckland for some years, Mr. Langford went to Northern Wairoa where he followed farming pursuits, being the owner of several large holdings. While in this district Mr. Langford also conducted a butchery business and was the owner of a stable of racehorses. He was a member of a dairy company directorate and served on several public bodies. Twenty-six years ago Mr. and Mrs. Langford came to Runciman, where they took up a farm which is now occupied by their only son, Mr. F. J. Langford. About 10 years ago they retired and settled at Drury. There are three daughters, Mrs. T. A. Kidd, of Te Kopuru, Northern Wairoa, Mrs. E. J. Cullen, of Hcrne Bay, Auckland, and Miss C. Langford, of Drury.
