SEARCH ON MOUNTAIN
CALLS FROM UNKNOWN MAN [from our own correspondent] . TE AROHA. Friday The party engaged in a search of Is Aroha mountain last night, as a result of calls for help heard in the evening, returned to town at a late hour. Members of the party stated that they exchanged calls with a man who, however, refused to reveal his identity and after answering a few calls relapsed into silence. The police theory is that the man was lost, but uninjured and, having regained his bearings through the lights and voices of the searchers, made his own way back to the town, no doubt embarrassed at the activities his previous cries had caused.
