SALMON KILLED BY EELS
Salmon m the Scottish streams are being attacked and killed bv eels The eels invariably win the fierce fights that have been observed. The Scottish Salmon Angling Federation, alarmed at the harm that is being done to tho salmon fishing industry, is asking Parliament to revive the fishing laws so that salmon can be protected. " It is a shocking sight," says the federation," to see a crowd of salmon, because, of dykes and dams, drifting into slacker waters and succumbing to tho horrible assault of eels." The salmon fishing rights on some of the rivers are valued at more than £50,000. ■ ===
