FORGERY ALLEGED
PROSECUTION AT HAMILTON request for bail refused [FROM OT7B OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Friday A charge of forging tli© nsimo of P. Manning to a cheque for £5 at Morrinsville in April, 1933, was preferred against Donald James Stewart, aged 21, in tlie Hamilton Police Court to-day. On the application of Detective A. J. White, he was remanded until June 26. Accused asked for the suppression of his name. Detective Whito said ho was not eligible, as he had been convicted at Dargaville and sentenced to a month's imprisonment for having gelignite unlawfully in his possession, lhe detective added that accused was also known as Mervyn Mcintosh. The application was refused, as was a request for bail.
