COMING CENTENARY
AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON CONCERN IN THE SOUTH " If Wellington does not soon decide on something definite in the way of celebrating its centenary in 1940, I am afraid we will find Auckland cutting in ahead of us," said Mr. W. Duncan, a member of the Wellington City Council, " It seems to me that if the centenary is to be celebrated by the holding of an exhibition—and, so far as I am aware, nothing else has been proposed —the citizens ought to begin working at once. There are only four years and a half to do the work, and we have npt yet decided definitely on any one thing."
