WORK AT SHOW GROUNDS
PROPOSED BUILDING PLAN UNEMPLOYED BOARD INTEREST A request received by the council of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association from the Unemployment Board for information regarding building work contempted in the near future was discussed at a meeting of tho council yesterday. Similar information is being sought by the board from all non-profit earning organisations in the Dominion.
It was reported by the managing secretary, Mr. W. F. O'Donnell, that the finance committee of the council had informed the board that some time ago a building programme at the Kpsom Show Grounds had been considered by the council. The matter was deferred at that time, but the association would now submit to the board an estimate of the cost of the proposed work. Tho board would bo informed that anything it could do might facilitate tho carrying out of the building programme when it was considered by tho council at a future date.
Mr. O'Donnell stated that a tender of £110(5 by Grinter Brothers had been accepted for the earthwork and drainage of tho oval at the showgrounds.
