MONTHLY INSTALMENT PLAN SUCCESS AT THAMES [by telegraph—own correspondent] THAMES, Friday In a statement presented to the borough advisory committee, the commissioner, Mr. C. L. Grange, announced that the collection of current rates and arrears to date, compared with the past financial year, was as follows: Arrears to June 18, £1529, as against £1292 to the same date in 1934; cuerent, £3045 (19.6 per cent), as against £3619 (17.7 per cent) in the previous year.
Members of the committee were unanimous that the system of payment by monthly instalments, instituted by the commissioner, had been a pronounced success and of great benefit to the ratepayers.
