POWER LOAN PROPOSED
TAURANGA RETICULATION APPLICATION FOR £60,000 [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Friday The Tauranga Electric-Power Board, at its monthly meeting, decided to hare an inspection made of the area near the Tauranga County and the Oliinemuri County boundary, with a view to ascertaining if a payable load is offering in that district. The secretary, Mr. J. 11. Chambers, reported that no objections had been lodged against the proposal of the board to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of £60,000 for the purpose of extending the reticulation in the board's district. The board decided to make an application for the sanction of the Loans Board.
The engineer, Mr. J. R. Bongard, reported that inquiries for extensions arid new connections were coming in rapidly, and stocks of material were being depleted at a greater rate than was anticipated.
