Miss J. McCiatchie and Miss J. Hill, of Christcliurch, are visiting Auckland.
Mrs. C. W. Collins has returned to Pa liners ton North after a visit to Auckland. Mrs. H. Dampier-Crossley, of Rotlierham, North Canterbury, is at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Gordon Holmes, Pokeno, and Mrs. D. Kelly, Waipukurau, are at the Station Hotel. At the Central Hotel are:—Mrs. K. B. Orr, Pukekohe, and Mrs. R. Fitzgerald, Te Aroha. Mrs. A. A. Foster, of Ascot Avenue, Devon port, is spending a • holiday at Onetangi, Waiheke Island. Miss Phoebe Parsons, who has been living for some time at Taupo, has returned to Lower Hutt, where she will make her home. Mrs. T. F. Macdonald, of Dunedih, is visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Mrs. T. M, Macdonald, of Matai Road, Devonport. Miss B. M. Hoskins, Wellington, Mrs. G. S._ Green, Christcliurch, and Mrs. D- C. Canning, Waipukurau, are at the Hotel Cargen. Miss Dina Isaacs, who had been spending some days in Wellington on her return from a visit to Sydney, arrived in Auckland yesterday. Mrs. J. W. Hampton Reynolds, who has been living in Christcliurch for the past few years, will leave next Wednesday for Auckland, where she and Mr. Reynolds will make their home. At the Ross Club meeting held on Wednesday evening a short talk was given by Mrs. Helen Griffiths. Elocutionary items by Mrs. Griffiths, Miss Daphne Mortensen and Miss Patty McLoughlin were enjoyed. The president, Mrs. M. W. W r . Spiers, presided. A meeting of the Women's Progress Club at the Higher Thought Centre was held on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. C. Dickens presiding. Mr. A. J. Stallworthy, M.P., gave a helpful address which was much appreciated. Mrs. Parkinson contributed two songs. Afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses, Mesdames Pearce, Deverick and Hubbert.
