SCOTLAND'S BUTTER MARKET

Sir, —I am afraid your correspondent Mr. M. 0. Stewart is, somewhat harsh on the Rev. J. H. M. JDabb's remarks. The iigures ghon by M-r. Stewart are not impressive for, if he knows Scotland, he must be awart« that the quantities he gives would: hardly supply Glasgow and Edinburgh! for a week. So presumably there i» something in Mr. Dabb's remarks, and we should endeavour to try arid, meet the Scottish taste and remember that the consumers' interest is more important than the producer's, -which fact manv of us overlook. Another point is that New Zealanders cannot buy from Scotland as much as we would like to owing to our tariffs, high exchange' sales tax, etc., so that we must not complain if Scotland gives us an occasional rebuff. Quid Pro Quo.
