BURNED TO DEATH
FATE OF TWO CHILDREN FATHER'S NARROW ESCAPE (Received May 2G, 11.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 2G Two girls were burned to death when their parents' home near the township of Guyra, was destroyed by fire early this morning. They were Doreen Baldwin, aged five years, and her sister Mary, aged three years. The children's father, Herbert Baldwin, and a friend, Mr. Cook, narrowly escaped death. They were dragged from the house just before the roof collapsed. Mrs. Baldwin and her three elder children were at a dance about half a mile away. A man at the dance saw the fire and raced to the cottage. He arrived just in time to save Mr. Baldwin and Mr. Cook, both of whom were severely burned.
