ESCAPE OF GOLFERS
CAR GOES OVER BANK [by telegraph OWN correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday Four Stratford golfers, Messrs. J. Rutherfurd, H T. McGuire, F. Swindell and K. Wehipeihana, had a remarkable escape from serious injury in a motor accident at Lepperton ou the Mountain Road shortly after nine o'clock this morning. The sedan car in which they were riding was endeavouring to pass a motor-lorrv when the side of the embankment over a 20ft. gullv broke away, and the car slipped off the road, somersaulted twice and after tearing the roof off came to rest in the creek bed. The occupants suffered only slight abrasions. They played golf ali the afternoon.
