PROGRESS AT GLENDOWIE
NEW CLUBHOUSE OPENED MIXED FOURSOME PLAYED The new clubhouse at the Glendowie Golf Club's links was officially opened on Saturday by the president of the club, Dr. C. Horton. There was a large gathering of members and visitors. In welcoming the visitors, the president spoke of tlie progress made during the club's existence, first at Kohimarama and at the present links. A mixed foursome was played by visitors and members, and under the ideal weather conditions prevailing a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Returning a net 71. Dr. C. Horton and Mrs. M. G. NEW WAIKATO CLUB OPENING AT THE NARROWS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday A new golf club was officially opened by Mr. F. Lye, M.P., at the Narrows, on the banks of the Waikato River, five miles south of Hamilton, yesterday afternoon. The weather was excellent and there was a large attendance. The Narrows Golf Club, which was formed principally through the activities of Mr. H. C. Wallace, the president, and Mr. A. Muir, the secretary, occupies a nine-holes course on Mr. H. Day's property. Residents of Tamahere, Matangi and Rukuhia have joined the club in good numbers.
CONTEST AT WAIUKU [from our own correspondent] WAIHKU, Saturday Members of the Waiuku Golf Club played a medal handicap natch to-day. The best scores were as follows;—Jerram, 89, 16 —73; A. Herrold, 83, 8—75; Colbeck, 80, 5 75; Hughes. 98, 23—75; C. E. Howden, 81. 5—76; Armitage, 93, IG—77. •
