Abramovich originally was arrested and imprisoned on a charge of assault, whereupon other members of the crew gave information to the French Consular authorities, who applied for the man to be handed over for extradition. Accused was remanded.

King Alexander of Yugoslavia and M. Louis Barthou, French Foreign Minister, were shot on October 9, 1934, by a Croat named Petrus Kalemen, as they were driving through the Place de la Bourse, Marseilles.
