MISSIONARIES IN CHINA STILL ALIVE A. WEEK AGO MR. HAYMAN AND COMPANION (Received May 23, 9.15 p.m.) PEKING. May 23 Although the two captured missionaries, Messrs. A. Hayman, of Auckland, and R. A. Bosshardt, of Switzerland, were threatened with execution on May 9 unless a ransom of £70,000 was forthcoming they were still alive a week ago. Mr. Bosshardt was recovering from an illness at the time.
