CONTROVERSIAL POINTS PRESIDENT ATTACKS CRITICS WASHINGTON. May 4 At a conference with the press this week President Roosevelt caustically criticised the anti-New Deal stand taken tip by the United States Chamber of Commerce. It is unusual for the President to use such an occasion to defend controversial policies, and his statements were sharp in the extreme.
