FRIENDLY MATCH ARRANGED A friendly hockey match has been ar-. ranged for to-morrow between H.M.S Diomede and a team chosen by Mr H. Wr.tt3, to be played at the Dock, starting it 2.45 pm Mr Watts' team has been choren as follo.vs:—G Cole, C Stewart, G. Moore, W Miller, L Hogben, V. Pickens, F Chapman L Boswell. M. Vipond, C. Torbet, 11. Watts Mr F Nicholson will be the referee. MATCHES IN THE PROVINCE The following results of hockey matches played iu country centres of the Auckland Province have been forwarded by correspondents of the Herai.o:Hamilton.- Kaipaki defeated Colts by 3 goals to 1 in the second day s pity of the Waikato Hockey Association's preliminary round at Steele Park. Hamilton East Burrows (2) and G Boyd contributed the points for Kaipaki and Colts' single goal was registered by R Clough Old Hoys displayed definite superiority in defeating Hinemoa by 5 goals to nil Old Bovs' scores were obtained by Curties (2) Davies (2) and Power A fcrntchy game between Old Technicals A and B teams resulted in a win For the former by 4 goals to 1 For tho victorious eleven E MaeKenzie scored i) goals and O dough 1 Matuscbka being r esponsihle for the B team's only goal Cambridge. -The hockey season was com menced in the district on Saturday, when the Cambridge Association and the Learning 'on Ladies' Club held a combined day in 'he Leamington Domain Short matches were olayed botween 'be three men's trams.
