ISOLATED COMMUNITIES [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday The general manager of the railways, Mr. G. H. Mackley, stated to-day on behalf of the Railwa3's Board that the board had decided, with a view to improving the amenities of home life in the more isolated railway communities, to install electric lighting in all those railway dwellings situate reasonably closo to a source of power. "Approximately 560 houses are affected," said Mr. Mackley, "and the work will bo put in hand as quickly as possible. Contracts will, wherever possible, be let for this work in the localities concerned."
