Miss Eva Hood, Wairiki Road, Mount Eden, will leave this evening to visit friends in the Wairarapa, Christcliurch and Blenheim districts.
Mrs. C. V. Houghton, Gladstone Road, Parnell, has left for Wellington to visit her daughter, Mrs. McClurg, before leaving by the Rangitata for England on May 10.

London was the principal topic of interest at a gathering of friends entertained this week by Mrs. William Parker and her daughter, Miss Margaret A. Parker, at 22 Inverness Avenue, Epsom, when Mrs. Parker celebrated the 75th occurrence of her date of leaving England. The guests .included Miss Phyllis Lewins, who returned recently from London, and Mrs. G. Chetwyn Parker, of 11 Inverness Avenue, whose daughter, Miss D. Parker, is in London for the jubilee celebrations. Piano playing by Miss Parker and Miss Lewins, and songs by Miss Middleton were much enjoyed.
The Women's Progress Club of the Higher Thought Temple met on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Charles Dickens presiding. The hostess was Mrs. Pearce. A programme of musical items, readings and recitations was given, Mrs. W. Young and Mrs. Parkinson contributing songs, Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. Hugle, Mrs. S. Stuart and Sister Lewin giving recitations and humorous readings. The fortnightly social was held on Tuesday evening, conducted by Mr. and Mrs. C. Dickons. Competitions, songs and dancing were enjoyed, Mrs. Y. Hynes and Mrs. Grace Mcjore assisting with the programme. v
