FIRST GAMES OF SEASON TWO NEW SENIOR TEAMS The Auckland Hockey Association's competitions will be commenced at the Remuera grounds to-morrow. The principal senior grade match will be between Wesley and Somerville, which will be played on the No. 1 ground at 3.5 p.m. At the same time St. Luke's will meet Papatoetoe on the No. 2 ground. The early game will be between University and Grammar Old Boys. Lower grade and ladies' matches also will be played. This year should prove one of the moat successful in the history of New Zealand hockey for, with the arrival of the All-India team on Monday week, competition for representative honours will bo particularly keen. In the senior grade all the clubs which played last season, except North Shore, are making a reappearance while Grammar Old Boys and Mount Eden, which entered teams in the second grade last year, have been promoted. The second grade competition also will be of interest. The Training College team, which withdrew last season, through the college being closed, is returning, while new teams have been entered by the Air Base and Albertians. following are the teams:— PAPATOETOE Senior Grade.—Williams, L. Pirongia, Paterangi, Otorohanga aud Hairini Clubs nominated for the Finch Rose Bowl competition this sea-son, and it was stated there was a probability of Te Ivuiti also affiliating. The first four were accepted, and if Te Kuiti Club is willing to play at Te Awamutu their application will bo accepted. The affiliation foe wus fixed at £1 Is a team.
