THE HAMILTON CLUB [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Thursday There was a good attendance at the 38th annual meeting of the Hamilton Chess Club. It was decided to run a ladder and a handicap tournament simultaneously on alternate nights. and 10 reserve the first Tuesday of each, month for special events. Ihe season will open next Tuesday. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. S. L. Faterson, S M.; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. A H. Tompkins and F. Hirst; committee, Messrs. I'. Bullock, C. P. Belton, 11. Mears and E. J. Stevenson; secretary. Mr. E. L. Jones; handicappers, Messrs. Mears and Hirst
