Thursday Members of the legal profession and the police force met in the Christchurch Magistrate's Court to-day to bid farewell to Mr. H. P. Lawr.v, S.M., who is leaving on transfer to Wellington. Mr. li. i) Mosley, S.M., Mr. A. F, Wright, president of the Law Society, and Inspector Cameron, for the police, paid tributes to Mr. La wry's patience, tact and ability in carrying out bis duties as a magistrate. Particular mention was made to bis able administration of the Destitute Persons Act
