MISHAP TO MR. BROMLEY PUNNED BENEATH HORSE ARDUOUS WEST COAST TRIP [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GREYMGUTH, Wednesday The deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, Mr. Walter Bromley, narrowly escaped serious injury this afternoon while riding on a mountainside in a rainstorm along a dangerous track to inspect quartz miners prospecting in "the vicinity of Blackball. His horse put its leg through a culvert and Mr. Bromley was pinned under the animal for live minutes before he could/ he released. He was uninjured, the horse, remaining quiet. The party, including Mr. P. G. Webb, M.P., continued the journey afoot, inspecting the Minerva. Crossing and Garden Gully mines, which were formerly worked. A favourable impression iras gained regarding the prospectors' work, as well as a realisation of the need to improve the means of access.
