SERVICE BY POST OFFICE

Sir, —In these days when Government. Departments receive much criticism and little praise I would like to pay a tribute to the conscientious and efficient service of the Postal Department. A letter was recently addressed to mo c.o. the Bangitane, King Albert Dock, London. The boat had departed before the letter arrived. The letter was forwarded by a later boat, sent down to Lyttlcton, forwarded to Jin old address of mine in Christchurch, sent to Auckland Post Office, where my present address was found, and the address had been neatly typed by post office officials. I received the letter safely on Wednesday. Service of that kind deserves all the appreciation we can express. W. H. Dixon.
