TRAWLER WRECKED GRIMSBY CREW'S FATE FOURTEEN MEN DROWNED ONLOOKERS HELPLESS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 11, 7.25 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10 A Grimsby trawler, the Laganes, was wrecked on a reef off the coast of Iceland at the height of a terrific Arctic gale.
Fourteen lives were lost on this occasion, making 44 lost in trawler wrecks this year to date. Of these victims 32 were Grimsby men. The crews of other trawlers saw the men on the Laganes drop off the rigging one by one and drown but they could not render help.
