CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING

METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held the opening shoot of the season on its grounds at Mangero on Saturday afternoon. Some excellent scores were returned, the most noteworthy being L. J. Stent, who broke 54 out of 50, C. E. Hodge with 41 out of 42, and L. Peterson with 52 out of 56. The first seven-target match was divided by the following nine shoofers, who all secured the possible:—J. O. Whitney (14yds), •T. Miller (15yds), W. H. Wilson (14yds), M. H. Tisdall (llyds), A. N. Bull (11yds), A. Tlanigan (12yds), C. F. Hodge (19yds), L. F. Ramsey (19yds). F. H. Seccombo (17yds). A 15-target match for a trophy presented by Mr. Thurlow, resulted in a straight-out win for 0. E. Hodge (19yds). with the possible, all being first barrels. The runnerslip, ench with 14 breaks, were:—F. S. Seccombo (17yds), L. Peterson (18yds), L. F. Ramsey (19yds), A. N. Bull (llyds), L. J. Henderson (15yds), L. J. Stent (14yds). The first contest of the third series for Walker and Hall Plate produced keen shooting. The following three tied with the possible of 15:—L, Petorson (18yds), L. .T, Stent (14yds), and C. E. Hodge (19yds). In the shoot-ofT Hodge dropped out _at the 20th, the other two carrying on until Peterson missed the 34th, leaving Sfent the winner.

In the D.C.L. Rose Bowl aggregate, F. 11. Secombe and L. Peterson are equal with 8-1 points each.
