TRAFFIC DELAYED
SUBURBS or LONDON FOG CAUSES TROUBLE AIR SERVICES AFFECTED (Received January 10. 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Jan. 9 Fog caused delay to road and rail»way traffic in some of the London suburbs to-day, and shipping on the Thames was held up. Owing to the poor visibility at Croydon, some inward-bound air liners found it necessary to land elsewhere. Two from Paris and one from Berlin landed their passengers at the Biggin Hill aerodrome, near Bromley, Kent. An Imperial Airways liner, the Hercules, however, left Paris with 17 passengers and arrived safely at Croydon according to schedule.
There was no interference with departures from Croydon.
