MALARIA EPIDEMIC
ALL CEYLON AFFECTED SERIOUS POSITION CREATED COLOMBO. Jan. 9 Malaria is still raging throughout Ceylon, and difficulty is being experienced in coping with the situation owing to frequent relapses in cases of children and elderly persons.
There were 79 deaths in the Colombo Hospital in December. The appointment of a scientific commission to investigate ihe causes of the malaria outbreak and devise means for a drive against the scourge is being considered by a board which is composed of Ministers and eminent authorities.
