AID FOR UNEMPLOYED
BRITISH 'GOVERNMENT LAND SETTLEMENT SCHEME <Jteceived January 10, 9.35 p.m.), - LONDON, Jan. 10 A big land settlement -scheme for the unemployed is to be initiated this year by the Government at a cost of £14,000,000, according to the Sketch. The -paper says the plan provides for the settlement of" 18,000 families in groups of from 150 to 200 on small holdings of between three and five acres, each group to receive instruction in the production of market-gar-den crops, pigs and poultry. The (Jovernment will provide the land and materials.for houses, also all the necessary stock and equipment.
