BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE

SCHOOL IN AUCKLAND The final demonstration of the Now Zealand branch of the British Drama League's summer school of drama was held last evening before a crowded audience at tlio Workers' Educatio.nal Association rooms.

Tho main purpose of tho display was to ailoi'd students an opportunity of viewing each other's work, and to show the effects of the study undertaken. The performances, which were much appreciated by the audience, show clearly tho considerable achievement in a short space of time. Three plays were given, Mr. Arnold Goodwin's class and Mrs. Hartley Baxter's class of juniors taking part, and Madame Baird's class gave a demonstration of Greek dancing and movements. Folk dancing was also pcriormcd bv Miss Searle's class.

The director, Mr. S. Natusch, thanked the Auckland area for inviting the to be held in Auckland. Jll praising the arrangements, he paid a tribute to tlTo secretary, Miss Earl, and said the facilities made available by the board of the Epsom Girls' Grainmar School and the Workers' Educational Association had been of much assistance. There was now room for the staff to extend its work throughout New ZealanTl.
