CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday The Westport-owned Bingen Palm lias arrived at Addington for the Royal meeting. He showed good form at Greymouth, and is a pacer above tho average. Ho was given a workout over a mile and a-quarter jesterday, and without being hurried did 2.55 2-5. Weather and track conditions were all in favour of fa3t times at Addington to-duy. Indianapolis paced a mile and a-half in 3.24, the first mile in 2.16. The big gelding is in fine order and is rapidly getting ready for hi 3 attempt on the mile record, in which he will be driven by E. C. McDermott. Sunny Ducrow went a mile and a-half in 3.25. She is engaged at Wellington on Saturday, and if she could be induced to leave the mark promptly, she would take all sorts of beating. Golden Cross and Mataunga went a mile and a-ciuarter in 2.52 2-5. and Full Hand took 3.31 for a mile and a-half.

Rollo, Lilian Bond and Sylvia Sydney covered a mile und a-hulf in 3.21. Don Chenault and Gemlight took 3.30, Pronto Bingen 3.23 and Rongomai, Iraq and Chiming Wrack 3.28 1-5. Hoi L'Or, who has done particularly well since his successful trij) to Auckland, left to-night for Wellington, where ho is engaged in the Summer Handicap und Kin, Ora Handicap on Saturday. P. Brown, the owner-trainer, and P. Holmes, who will drive the gelding in his races, also made the journey. Roi L'Or has done little fast work since he lust raced, but he requires very little of a strenuous nature to keep him in form. At Addington yesterday he was allowed to run along over two miles in 4.33 and at Hutt Park to-morrow he will be given sharp sprinting work. Racketeer, who allowed brilliant form at Greymouth, has joined G. S. Smith's Addington stable. Nominations for the Royal Handicap, of £SOO, limit 4.28, 2 miles, to be run at Addington on January 19, are as follows: Glenrossie, Sunny Morn, Blue Mountain, Gold Country, Rollo, Muriel Be Oro, Gold Tinge, Pegaway, Silver Be Oro, Harvest Child, Mountain Dell, Vesuvius. For the Windsor Handicay, of £'2so, limit 2.42, 1J miles, the following have been nominated: —lmpromptu, Auburn Lad, Glenrossie, Blue Mountain, Rollo, Silver Dn Oro, Lindbergh, Indianapolis, Harold Logan, Roi L'Or.

WINNER DROPS DEAD FATE OF MYRA CHENAULT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday Myra Cbenault, who won the Junction Trot Handicap at the Reefton Jockey Club's meeting yesterday,, dropped dead after returning to the birdcage. A veterinary examination showed that she had a ruptured heart. Myra Chenault was not an outstanding success' on the race track; but several times showed signs of improvement. VERY SPEEDY TROTTER REAL BOY BREAKS BADLY Real Boy, who claims two engagements at Wellington to-morrow, is a very speedy trotter, but galloping tendencies robbed hijn of a stake at the Canterbury Park meeting. .Real Boy won the Hornby Handicap, defeating the consistent unci speedy Sea Gift, who trotted 4.28 and was awarded first place, the winner being distanced for galloping after the. start of the rncp. When ho settled down, Real Boy trotted soundly. A few seasons ago two similar positions arose in the Auckland province, Indolent, at Hamilton, and Jock Bingen, at Epsom, winning after a'h early gallop and being disqualified subsequently. WILLIE DERBY'S PLANS PERIOD AT NGARUAWAHIA The pacer Willie Derby has gone to Ngaruawahia, where his part-owner, L. Booth, will keep him in steady work for a few weelcß, when he will return to S. M. August's charge to complete his preparation for the Auckland Trotting Club's February meeting. Willie Derby has on several previous occasions been attended to at Ngaruawahia by Booth, and after a few final sharp tests on returning to August has raced with good success. Willie Derby showed signs of returning form on the Inst day of the Auckland summer meeting. PROMISING NOVICES TWO RACING AT HUTT PARK Two promising novices, namely, Handicapper and Mystery Yet, should play a prominent part in the slow-class pacors' races at Hult Park to-morrow. At the last Wellington meeting Handicapper registered two seconds, being beaten by Sago King in the Novice Handicap and by Paragon in the Shorts Handicap. Mystery Yet attracted attention at the Ashburton meeting, where,, driven by E. C. McDermott, lie was defeated by a head by Midshipmaid, who conceded the maiden 48yds and ran 3.18. Mystery Yet only requires to go u similar race to be returned a, winner in one of his races.
